AWS Developer
API development with Project Management and AWS experience - Contract in Portland, Oregon

*The Technical Project Manager manages a key service (Consumer Profile Service) and corresponding Amazon Web Services projects from project concept through project close-out and supports the project management of complex projects.

*Performs project activities for one or more projects and supports various project management activities throughout the project lifecycle including project schedules, status reporting, project communication, information gathering, coordination of meetings, tracking issues, risks and resources.

*Aside from project management, in this role you will be responsible for ensuring proper cross-team collaboration occurs, user stories and tasks are documented and updated continuously, technical documentation is complete (ie, API Contracts), communication re: status regularly shared, support the creation of and document the product roadmap, and other duties as needed to establish this newly formed team as a model of how service teams should be structured.


*Highly technical (previous coding experience ideal, AWS and managing services also desired)

*Ability and proven experience developing API's

*Strong technical background including previous coding experience

*Minimum of five years experience managing/coordinating work efforts across multiple team members as a technical project manager

*Expertise in ticketing tools such as Rally

*PMP and Familiarity with the Project Management Institute (PMI) Guide and the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK).

*In this role, you will be responsible for managing and delivering large cloud build out and migration projects end-to-end working closely with business project managers.

*This role will require other duties such as updating SharePoint sites, creating and updating user stories and tasks, ensuring proper technical documentation is kept (ie, API Contracts) and staying in constant communication with various teams.

*Creates and maintains project plans and other documentation in compliance with established standards. This includes project schedules and budgets, and plans for project quality, resources, communications and risks.

*Prepares status reports and other project reports and presents information to organizational leadership, project teams and client/customer groups.

*Supports the collection of project estimates

*Monitors measures and milestones- defines, collects and analyzes metrics to ensure projects are on target.

*Responsible for supporting multiple projects ensuring timely deliverables within budgetary constraints.

*Contributes to the development of, and ensure adherence to, company adopted project management methods.

*Proactively recommends courses of action to maintain cost effectiveness.

Nice to have:

Managing Projects with data center design and virtualization technologies such as VMWare and Docker. Knowledge of Amazon Web Services CloudTrail, CloudWatch, Inspector, Config, Trusted Advisor, Amazon Machine Images, Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), EC2 Container Service (ECS), Elastic Block Storage (EBS), Elastic File Storage (EFS), Lambda, Elastic Load Balancer (ELB), Auto-Scaling Groups (ASG), Simple Work Flow (SWF), Simple Queue Service (SQS), Simple Notification Service (SNS), Simple E-mail Service (SES), and Simple Storage Service (S3) is required. Amazon Web Services Elastic Map Reduce (EMR), Machine Learning, and Kinesis are desired.
• Amazon Web Services (AWS) Certified Solutions Architect Associate/Professional, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator Associate, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional, or MCSD: Azure Solutions Architect is highly desirable.

Responsible work experience in Information Technology with a broad range of operating systems, virtualization technologies, and basic network knowledge; 2 years of experience in cloud technologies, preferably Amazon Web Services; 1 year of experience in mentoring of technical teams and individual contributors. Prior experience in the health care industry is highly desirable.


*Duties are performed primarily in an office environment.

*May require travel to other affiliate locations.

*Late evening and week-end work is frequently necessary
