Solutions Architect (Web Applications background)

Thought leader accountable for developing solutions, technology strategy and roadmap for large government systems. Primary responsibility is to architect solutions and ensure implementation based on the government enterprise architecture. Leads the development of technical solutions for business development captures and proposal responses. Solution Architects actively coaches the technical architects.
•Develop, document and help implement Architecture roadmap and strategy
•Lead the development and implementation of the solution architecture for assigned programs.
•Ensures that solution architectures are robust and address business, application, information and infrastructure architectural requirements
•Lead the solution development and technical responses for assigned proposals
•Actively mentor technical architects and contributes to the development of the solution architecture capability by documenting and sharing knowledge and best practices with peers
•Leverage technology to improve and future proof current solutions
•Provide technical expertise to support current and projected customer business requirements and technology upgrades.
Ten years of relevant work experience in IT system development projects maintaining quality control throughout the software life cycle including solution architecture and systems analysis. Candidate must have implementation experience in two or more areas of technology and business domains. EA (TOGAF) certifications highly desirable.
Other required skills & abilities:
•Experience with system integration technologies, service oriented architecture (SOA), web services, software design principles, tools and applications
•Experience with large scale web applications, system architectures, and data architectures
•Knowledge of/proficiency in web application technologies and design patterns
•Knowledge of/proficiency in database technologies and concepts including Relational and NoSQL databases, Big Data, and Data Warehouses
•Experience in implementation of solutions using Cloud and Software As a Service (SaaS) technologies
•Proficient in designing solution strategies using agile and iterative methodologies
•Knowledge of federal government security and compliance standards
•Effective written, verbal and presentation skills required to respond to Government Request for Proposals (RFPs) and Oral Presentations
•Experienced in developing and supporting complex federal government systems
Education and Training
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Analysis, Information Systems, Statistics, Engineering or equiv. with 10 years' experience or Master's degree in Computer Science, Systems Analysis, Information Systems, Statistics, Engineering or equiv. with 8 years' experience.
