Position Summary: The primary responsibilities of the Associate Director of Development is to secure private gifts to support the fundraising priorities of the School of Media and Journalism by helping donors fulfill their passions and interests through their giving. This position will develop and manage a portfolio of major donor prospects assuring that as many as possible are retained as continued as donors to the school and are upgraded in their giving and involvement. Activity and performance toward meeting established goals will be tracked through a data management system. This position sets assertive goals and monitor progress toward goals; secures support for student immersion and internship programs; and furthers the funding opportunities for the advancement of faculty research and project development with media related industries. The positon must be able to secure project and organization information, work with school leadership and faculty to create and write effective proposals.

Education Requirements: A bachelor's degree is required.

Qualification and Experience: This position requires 5 years of successful fundraising, marketing or related experience in the media industry; demonstrated related ability to represent the MJ-school to multiple audiences with segment-specific messages; exceptional written and oral communication; ability to work well professionally with all of the MJ-school volunteer boards; experience in a comprehensive fundraising campaign preferred; willing to travel and work nights or weekends when necessary. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate high energy, drive, and integrity.
