The Office of the University Registrar (UREG) is seeking an Academics Records Specialist. The mission of the Office of the University Registrar (UREG) is to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and security of the academic records of the University. We provide academic record services to students, faculty, staff, alumni, and other constituents in support of the purpose and goals of the University, through proactive outreach and communication. The Academic Records Specialist supports that mission through review, analysis, and processing of information related to students' academic records.
The selected candidate will have to navigate through/within UREG's core areas to gain knowledge of operations, customer service and support in order to represent UREG in its outreach efforts. There is a need to develop and foster relationships with UREG's customers, departments, schools, and regional centers to lay a foundation for these outreach efforts. This position has direct interaction with faculty, school and department contacts.
The person in this position will take the lead on all processes that pertain to graduation and degree conferral. As a member of the UREG academic records team, this position will provide primary and backup support for all areas pertaining to student academic records. Academic records support may include, but not be limited to: student records queries and cleanup, grade changes, ID/name changes, career/program/plan changes, processing honor/judicial/Title IX dismissals & suspensions, transcript notations, students leaving from and returning to the University, academic level maintenance, creation of grade rosters, grade lapse processing, Dean's List processing, intermediate honors, grading communication to instructors, degree conferral, diploma ordering, and degree/grade audits. This position will also serve as Deputy Data Steward for SIS Student Records (SR) security, authorizing various levels of SIS SR access to appropriate school and departmental personnel.
The ideal candidate for this position must be able to effectively communicate complex concepts, both orally and in writing, to a variety of populations, and must be able to work individually and as an equal, trusted member of a team. A person in this position must have the proven ability to develop open, trusting, and collaborative relationships with team members, colleagues, and management.
