Responsibilities

Coordinates graduate recruitment; promotes and markets the graduate program in Physics to prospective students; answers inquiries from prospective students and provides guidance and counseling; processes and tracks applications; schedules recruiting visits. Coordinates with IT staff to update and manage website for graduate recruitment.
Advises students on academic policies and procedures, processes tuition waivers and assists in resolution of enrollment issues; promotes and coordinates graduate scholarship and fellowship applications; liaison to the Graduate School and other university offices; represent the graduate program at College and University meetings.
Works with the Graduate Admissions Office to coordinate application materials for prospective students and responds to inquiries about the graduate program. Works in conjunction with the Office of Global Engagement to resolve visa issues and assists with new student orientation, including guidance for Florida residency.
Keeps Graduate Student Tracking database up-to-date to assist in annual reviews and in tracking progress toward completion; coordinates annual graduate reviews. Maintains admissions data and provides reports for administrative planning. Maintains database of graduate alumni, including career progress and contact information.
Assists other Physics Department staff as needed to ensure the smooth functioning of the academic and outreach missions of the department, such as helping the Undergraduate Coordinator during peak academic periods. Organizes graduate applications and ensures faculty access to the application portal.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and two years of experience.
Knowledge of office practices, procedures, and etiquette.
Knowledge of applicable computer applications and basic computer functions.
Ability to:
-Meet project deadlines.
-Perform basic mathematical calculations.
-Demonstrate effective customer service skills.
-Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
-Represent the University in appointed area as required.
-Evaluate applicant information and determine eligibility.
-Interpret academic program requirements and provide advice.
-Develop and implement a successful marketing plan/strategy.
-Prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
-Interpret and apply related University policies, procedures, principles, and practices.
-Interpret and apply related federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations.

Preferred

Knowledge of marketing research techniques and tools.
Knowledge of academic resources available to students.
Knowledge of office practices, procedures, and etiquette.
Knowledge of admissions, registration and graduation requirements.
Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply related University policies, procedures, principles, and practices.
Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply related federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations.

Anticipated Salary Range

Low $30,000s to negotiable.

Pay Plan

This is an A&P (Administrative and Professional) position.

Schedule

If not otherwise specified, schedule is M-F, 8-5.
