Florida State University's Center for Leadership & Social Change seeks a collaborative and creative student development educator to lead initiatives at the intersection of diversity, leadership, and service. The Leadership Development Coordinator will work with colleagues to transform the lives of students, faculty, and staff through leadership education, identity development, and community engagement.
The program coordinator is responsible for planning and managing a wide range of student development programs that focus on the incorporation of identity, leadership, and service. There is a special emphasis in this position on leadership development via curricular and co-curricular programs. The coordinator will also be expected to deliver a variety of trainings, workshops, curricular, and co-curricular programs.
Reporting to the Associate Director of the Center for Leadership & Social Change, the Leadership Development Coordinator engages in administrative, programming, and educator roles, including but not limited to the following responsibilities:
*Coordinate and manage the design, redesign, and implementation of student development programs focusing on leadership development.
*Engage in a programming portfolio that includes programs and workshops which focus on the following areas of emphasis for students and staff: LOGIC, Women's Leadership Institute, and FSU LeaderShape Institute.
*Supervise a graduate assistant, undergraduate student staff, and interns (graduate and undergraduate).
*Develop and teach curricular components within the Certificate of Leadership Studies.
*Participate in active incorporation of literature and assessment feedback to improve program quality and maintain relevancy.
The successful candidate will possess experience in developing and facilitating student development programming - specifically in the areas of service, diversity, and leadership. Candidates should desire to work in a diverse learning environment; lead through change and transition; and create collaborative, transformative partnerships with students, staff, faculty, and community members. Philosophically and practically they should look forward to wrestling with the opportunities, challenges, power, and privilege that exist for a Center that sits at the intersection of identity, change, and community.
Candidate must possess experience in student development and the work of leadership and diversity education, engagement, and training. Preferred qualifications include strong understanding of leadership theory and facilitating experiences focused on student development in the areas of identity and leadership.
Minimum qualifications include:
*A Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of experience (or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years).
*Experience in leadership and social justice education.
*Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
*Ability to develop and facilitate workshops and training sessions.
*Experience mentoring, advising, and supervising students and/or student groups in a college/university setting.
*Knowledge of effective principles and practices of student program planning, development, and evaluation.
Master's degree preferred.

Anticipated Salary Range
The salary for this position is in the mid-30s with a competitive benefits and professional development package.
This is an A&P (Administrative and Professional) position.
If not otherwise specified, schedule is M-F, 8-5; some evening and weekend hours required depending on student programming.
