Responsibilities

Responsibilities include supervising a team of ten to twenty part time employees located throughout Marion, Dixie and Alachua Counties. The employees will serve as interventionists, observers and assessors in local public schools. Attending project training for each position and passing test-outs is required. Coordination and professional communication with school district personnel, school principals and classroom teachers is also required.

Qualifications

Qualifications include experience in early childhood and/or elementary education; background knowledge in early literacy and/or elementary school reading; strong interpersonal, organizational, written and verbal skills; strong decision making capabilities; ability to meet deadlines, work independently, and take initiative; ability to follow directions and pay attention to details; aptitude for communicating effectively with a diverse population. Applicants must have a bachelor's degree in Education, Educational Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Special Education or other related field. Applicants must have a valid Florida driver's license and reliable transportation capable of transporting project materials on a daily basis.

Preferred

Preferred attributes include open availability and proficiency in Google Documents, Dropbox, FileMaker, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Other Information

The Language Intervention Study at The Florida State University is seeking a site coordinator for a literacy intervention study in the following counties: Alachua, Dixie, and Marion. The duration of the position will be approximately August 2016 through May 2017. The primary location of work will be in local participating elementary schools and a local office. All applicants selected for interviews must provide at least three professional references.

Anticipated Salary Range

Hourly rate depends on education and experience but will range between $14-$17 per hour.

Pay Plan

This is an OPS/temporary Job.

Soft Money Funded Position

This position is time-limited based on soft money funding, with renewal contingent upon available funds and the needs of the University.

Schedule

Position to include approximately 25 hours/week during the 2016-2017 school year. Number of hours will vary from week to week. There are some weeks when no hours are available, for example, winter break.

Criminal Background Check

This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check, to include fingerprinting.
