Information Technology Services


Dual Reporting: College of Business and ITS-ITAPP partnership to deliver information technology services to support the mission of the College of Business. Reports to ITS to manage IT services for the College of Business, consolidate services, and leverage centrally funded/managed systems and personnel.
Serves as Information Technology Manager for the College of Business and is responsible for overall direction, planning, system implementation and staffing. Manager of college's computing facilities, computing systems, databases, software, audio visual, multimedia and lecture capturing technologies. Daily public contact with students, faculty and staff. Reports to the Assistant Dean of the College of Business.
Liaison to Information Technology Services (ITS). Position is expected to leverage and work with existing IT systems and services that are managed by ITS such as virtualization technologies, Active Directory, SharePoint, web content management system, network management, e-mail, file storage, workstation/lab support. Will collaborate with ITS Computing Technology Services to develop workstation support processes and procedures.
Supervise the daily activities of all IT personnel working with the College of Business IT Department. This will also involve the joint supervision of some ITS personnel who have been assigned to support the IT needs of the College of Business. Collaborate/consult with other ITS mangers and colleagues in regards to personnel management.
Create reports and work with ITS to assess the IT needs of the departments in order to track progress and demonstrate the value of the ITAPP partnership. In collaboration with the Dean and/or Assistant Dean, determines/documents policies and procedures and oversees the implementation and enforcement of polices.
Assist the department with the inventory tracking of IT equipment. Maintains access to confidential information. Interprets and applies university connectivity, security and accessibility procedures. Authorizes user sign-ons and passwords to College of Business systems and information. Liaison to other FSU academic and business departments.
Performs duties in compliance with ITS policies, guidelines, and processes pertaining to support requests, work orders, project management, change management, and incident management. Appropriately utilizes associated tools in accordance with ITS standards.


Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, MIS, or other appropriate degree and four years' experience or a combination of appropriate post high school education and experience equal to eight years.
Experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
Experience developing and implementing policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.
Experience providing leadership and direction in programmatic, budgetary, and operational functions.
Experience with applicable computer software and operating systems.
Experience utilizing problem solving and technical skills.


Experience supervising IT employees
Ability to support diverse groups of people within a University environment (i.e. students, research professionals, faculty and staff). Strong work ethic.
Experience with public speaking and/or giving presentations.
Strong customer service skills
Experience with life cycle replacement.
Experience with project management.
Familiar with System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).
Familiar with web content management solutions.
Experience creating and managing IT project plans.
Experience managing workstations and associated instructional equipment in labs and classrooms.
Experience with Windows 7/8/10 workstation deployment and management.
Experience with Windows 2008/2012 server administration.
Experience administering users, groups and policies using Microsoft Active Directory
Basic understanding of storage solutions and technologies.
Familiar with networking/telecommunications principles and concepts.
Experience documenting processes and systems (new and existing).
Microsoft Certifications relating to Windows 8/10 desktop administration and Windows 2008/2012 server administration.
Familiar with AV and lecture capture technologies.
Familiar with Distance Learning technologies.

Pay Plan

This is an A&P (Administrative and Professional) position.


If not otherwise specified, schedule is M-F, 8-5.
