Position Summary:

Under administration direction, provides vision and leadership for academic support and testing services on campus. Responsible for the successful intervention with conditional students who have been accepted but perhaps need additional academic support. This person will be responsible for monitoring the academic progress and other challenges students are faced with. Lastly, coordinate operations of the Testing Center through delivery of local and national tests-both computer based and paper and pencil versions.


  • Provide academic support in assisting students in setting and achieving academic goals.
  • Coordinates counseling and other initiatives for students on warning and probation.
  • Assess student needs and refer students to appropriate resources and personnel as necessary.
  • Advises students of available support programs and services.
  • Spearhead a study hall program for Conditional Admit Students.
  • Work closely with Admissions, Advising, First Year Experience and other important components of the University.
  • Coordinate and plans personalized services and communication with students, faculty and staff.
  • Administers and proctor exams of various type, strictly adhering to guidelines set by faculty and staff.
  • Manages preparation and registration of various exam services.
  • Train, supervise, evaluate, and promote the professional development of regular and ad hoc Testing Center staff (includes proctors).
  • Work with University faculty, staff, and administration to promote the Testing Center and enhance services when needed/appropriate.
  • Perform other duties that may be assigned.




  • Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Social Work, Psychology, Business, or related field and five (5) years of experience with progressive responsibility in education or business.
  • Experience administering tests and student success experience.
  • Enforces policies and procedures set forth by testing agencies and the University.
  • Ability to organize complex, multi-component projects involving internal and external constituents a must.
  • Ability to handle information confidentially; Demonstrated ability to take initiative and follow through.
  • Must be highly energized and extremely well organized.
  • Computer skills are needed including Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, Access, and Power Point.
  • Must have ability to multi-task and interact with varied personalities; and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work week nights and an occasional weekend.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 25 pounds; walk across campus including up/down stairs, climb, bend, reach, and stand. Ability to sit for extended periods of time, daily.
