BASIC FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITY

 

Under the supervision of the Assistant Vice President for Business Services, the Campus Card Manager oversees the day to day functions of the Campus Card Department.  The Campus Card Manager shall ensure the University is offering its community a robust Campus Card program.  The Campus Card Manager shall be knowledgeable of the latest technology being used in the industry and will apply industry best practices to advance the University’s mission.

 

 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Oversee the day-to-day operations of the university-wide Campus Card program including, but not limited to, the issuance of ID cards, reconciling daily deposits and administering the UGRYD merchant program.

Set up all privileges within CS Gold such as accounts, cardholder groups and locations.

Administer building access privileges within CS Gold in accordance with University policy and in collaboration with the Department of Public Safety.

Ensure seamless integration and ongoing operation of the parking software interface with the Campus Card system.

Collaborate with key stakeholder including IT, Student Services, Residence Life, Public Safety, Controller’s Office, Dining Services, Merchant Partners and others to maximize program service, utility and overall value to the community.

Partner with academic and administrative staff to support major College events that include card services.

Coordinate with campus departments that have requested the use of card services for specific needs; act as project manager for equipment placement and installation services.

Train other campus offices on applications, equipment, and uses of the system as needed.

Install, configure, wire, and connect card system terminals for end-user point-of-sale, debit, entitlements, and bankcard applications; access controllers/readers; vending controllers/readers; copier controllers/readers; and other University equipment/readers as needed.

Maintain and configure databases, applications, and command procedures to meet departmental initiatives and objectives.

Coordinate the maintenance, operation, and networking of all related equipment through associated vendors and other departments.

Responsible for testing all equipment and software prior to upgrades or installs to ensure seamless transition to the Campus Community.

Develop and implement a marketing plan; and act as ambassador (internally and externally) for the Campus Card program.

Identify and recommend additional business opportunities utilizing the Campus Card.

Develop and implement a strategic plan to support and expand the Campus Card program.

Assist with the reconciliation of all campus card devices - vending, copies, printing, and POS readers.

Generate various general and ad hoc reports and distribute as needed.

Document policies and procedures; ensure compliance; provide service, support, and reports for the management of the Campus Card Department.

 

 

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

 

The ideal candidate will possess in depth knowledge and proven experience in all aspects of overseeing the daily activities of a Campus Card Department.  This individual will be responsible for sustaining and expanding the existing Campus Card program.

 

  • BA degree with experience preferred or equivalent combined educational/work experience. A minimum of 5 years of experience working with CS Gold, version 6 or higher, at DBA level. In-depth knowledge of the current practices, trends and innovations in the field of Campus Card program standards. Demonstrated ability to implement and support new programs independently. Ability to effectively communicate utilizing interpersonal skills to maintain effective relationships with other departments, staff, faculty, students and public as required. Availability and willingness to work non-standard work hours to facilitate the successful outcome of projects and attend key events, such as Open House, as needed. Skills in the area of prioritization, multi-tasking, and vendor management to administer successful programs in collaboration with key partners. Technical knowledge and experience with respect to Windows based servers, networking and database management. Technical as well as functional knowledge and experience with CBord applications. Computer literacy in Windows environment applications including MS Office suite is required.
