Digital Creative Manager
Reporting to the Director of Social Media Strategy, the Digital Creative Manager will work with the rest of the Marketing and New Business Development team to develop timely and compelling creative assets to accompany written content or act as standalone stories that effectively communicate key messaging and branding on social and digital channels. As a result of this position, UMass Amherst’s marketing content will leverage modern, visually engaging formats and be optimized for specific distribution channels. Creative content will have a consistent look and feel while maintaining an audience-appropriate tone.
Develop creative assets as needed by overarching communications and social media strategies, including:
o Filming video and taking photography, including interviews
o Creating video stories from scratch or B-roll, including animated video content
o Creating additional visual elements and stories, including gifs, infographics, and vector art
Develop and/or provide input on visual ideas and concepts, video scripts, outlines, and production schedules as included in above strategies.
Produce variations of content appropriate to each channel (website, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, LinkedIn).
Produce multimedia elements for events, including live video and social media coverage.
Manage multiple productions at once and under tight deadlines.
Catalog and archive video and image content.
Bachelor’s degree with 3 years relevant experience to include experience in digital content creation, including graphic design and film and video production for use on social media.
Knowledge and extensive experience with graphic or photo imaging, video creation and editing software.
Strong knowledge of digital storytelling and marketing, including social media platforms and their format requirements and best practices.
Strong knowledge of visual trends and platforms/technologies.
Hiring salary range: $41,900 - $52,500; normal starting salary: $41,900 - $47,200.
