Contract Opportunity in Portland, OR- and Seattle WA

Duration 3-18 months on site contract

Primary Job Purpose

Client is building a world-class service-oriented healthcare technology platform on the AWS cloud with data science and machine learning capabilities to enable application developers and our external partners to build, deploy & operate consumer and enterprise facing healthcare applications.

The Technical Project Manager I manages a key service (Consumer Profile Service) and corresponding Amazon Web Services projects from project concept through project close-out and supports the project management of complex projects. Performs project activities for one or more projects and supports various project management activities throughout the project lifecycle including project schedules, status reporting, project communication, information gathering, coordination of meetings, tracking issues, risks and resources.

Aside from project management, in this role you will be responsible for ensuring proper cross-team collaboration occurs, user stories and tasks are documented and updated continuously, technical documentation is complete (ie, API Contracts), communication re: status regularly shared, support the creation of and document the product roadmap, and other duties as needed to establish this newly formed team as a model of how service teams should be structured.

Minimum Job Qualifications and Technical Competencies

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

*Strong technical background with previous coding experience

*Minimum of five years experience managing/coordinating work efforts across multiple team members as a technical project manager

*Demonstrated ability to identify problems, mediate issues, develop solutions and implement a course of action

*Demonstrated success at meeting timelines, and requirement targets and managing variances

*Expertise in ticketing tools such as Rally

*Experience with Microsoft Office suite of tools and automated project management software

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

*Highly technical (previous coding experience ideal, AWS and managing services also desired)

*Strong interpersonal and communication skills including writing, presenting, listening, and facilitating

*Ability to identify project milestones/deliverable delays and critical resource allocation issues from the work breakdown schedule

*Must have excellent analysis and problem solving skills

*Ability to work effectively with minimum supervision

*Full understanding of the project life-cycle

*Presentation experience to project participants and stakeholders

*Leadership skills

*Demonstrated ability to work with business sponsors and partners to identify and implement solutions

*Demonstrated ability to motivate teams to achieve defined deliverables and be able to work effectively with clients

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

*Responsible for project outcomes through effective project planning, task definition, scope management, resource allocation and negotiation, risk mitigation, cost management, and stakeholder communication.

*May act as vendor manager for key relationships.

*Define, collect and analyze metrics to ensure projects are on target.

*Responsible for monitoring and reporting on project tasks, deliverables, costs, resources, issues, changes, risks and quality assurance.

*Develops and maintains the overall project documentation library ensuring that all documentation is established, maintained and retained as necessary in project databases.

*Creates and maintains project plans and other documentation in compliance with established standards. This includes project schedules and budgets, and plans for project quality, resources, communications and risks.

*Prepares status reports and other project reports and presents information to organizational leadership, project teams and client/customer groups.

*Supports the collection of project estimates

*Monitors measures and milestones- defines, collects and analyzes metrics to ensure projects are on target.

*Responsible for supporting multiple projects ensuring timely deliverables within budgetary constraints.

*Contributes to the development of, and ensure adherence to, company adopted project management methods.

*Proactively recommends courses of action to maintain cost effectiveness.

OTHER JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

*Stays current on new project management and agile methodology.

*Ensure timely resolution of problems within the scope of the assignment.

*Assist in gathering estimations for work requests

*Creating and updating User Stories and Tasks and technical documentation

*Updating SharePoint with project information

*May take on another key service (CCW)

*Other duties to assist the Sr. Technical Program Manager
