Summary of Position:
Instructional designers at UNCW develop face to face training and self-instructional materials for faculty and student use. Other duties include: providing hands on support for both faculty and students of online and web-enhanced courses; provide course quality reviews for ADA compliance; provide web and in person trainings on new technologies; participate in regional, national organizations, and research to stay current with trends and best practices in eLearning.
Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, or Educational Technology or comparable work experience in Instructional Design; Experience in e-Learning and instructional design experience with Blackboard Learning Management Systems.
Skills in using Camtasia, Snag-it, Respondus, VoiceThread, Captivate, Dreamweaver, WebEx Live Classroom and MS Office products at a master level and be able to learn the instructional uses of other training development tools.
Primary Function of Organizational Unit:
The Office of e-Learning is committed to providing training and resources to guide faculty in the development of high-quality online and web-enhanced courses. Through individual course consultation and group training and events, the Office of e-Learning serves as a guidepost for applied online pedagogy, as well as an information hub for the latest in instructional technology.
