Senior Director, School & College Programs
Temple University seeks a strategic, creative and energetic leader to build a robust and dynamic program aimed at engaging alumni constituents through their school and college affiliations. Reporting to the Vice President of Alumni Relations, the incumbent will work closely with school and college leadership and staff to create a model for school and college based alumni engagement that leverages central Alumni Relations resources to complement and enhance existing school-based outreach and initiatives. The incumbent will lead a team responsible for collaborating with school-based alumni relations and development staff to plan and manage a variety of programs, volunteer/leadership opportunities, communication strategies and other initiatives designed to enhance school and college based affinity while also increasing support for the greater university community. The Senior Director will ensure school and college-based interests are represented in central alumni relations programs and initiatives by leading and participating on cross-functional teams within the alumni relations office. Conversely, s/he will lead her team in efforts to integrate themselves within each school and college to increase trust, transparency and collaboration. The incumbent will lead the development of resources and best practices for school and college based staff to support their alumni engagement efforts, particularly in terms of communications strategies, alumni board management and data-driven program planning and evaluation. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree and at least seven years of experience in program planning, project management and/or higher education administration. Significant understanding of alumni engagement, donor relations and/or fundraising in a higher education environment. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Required Skills & Abilities: *Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills, including ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships and strategic partnerships to maximize program effectiveness. *Demonstrated experience applying project management skills to ensure predictable, consistent and successful program delivery. *Proven ability to build high performance project teams, including mobilizing/motivating, resolving conflict, executing in fast-paced/frequently changing environment. *Strong ability to identify opportunities and gain organizational support for strategic initiatives. *Past experience includes high-level interactions with senior administrators, university officials, volunteer boards and alumni leaders (trustees, donors, alumni leaders). *Ability to adapt and work effectively within a variety of situations and with a diverse group of individuals.
