Job description

Duties: Reporting to the Manager, Membership and Development Data Systems, the Membership and Development Data Assistant is responsible for timely and accurate processing, acknowledgement, and fulfillment of gifts and memberships made to the Morris Arboretum. This includes creating new and updating donor records, as well as processing cash, checks, credit cards, online gifts, securities, and wire transfers. All gifts and memberships are recorded in two databases - Atlas, the University of Pennsylvania's Development and Alumni Relations database, and Raiser's Edge. Processing includes reconciliation to ensure data integrity in the two databases. Customer service to members, donors, and internal customers is a function of the position. General administrative responsibilities, such as ordering supplies and maintaining supply inventories, are included in the responsibilities. This position requires an individual who is highly detail and process oriented. Some evening and weekend work are required.

Qualifications: A high school diploma or GED and 3 to 5 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, are required Associate's Degree and1 to 2 years of experience strongly preferred. Highly detail oriented with a critical degree of accuracy regarding data entry and financial reconciliation; good interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines; good problem-solving and analytical skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work well as a team member and to work independently; ability to understand and follow directions and complex policies and procedures; and ability to deal with confidential data. Experience working with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word, is required. Experience using a fundraising database is required with a preference to those with experience using Raiser's Edge and/or the University's Atlas database. Valid driver's license required.
