Duties: The Associate Dean is a skilled collaborator, creative thinker, and energetic contributor who plans and implements a comprehensive marketing program to raise awareness of the Penn brand. This data-enthusiast will implement, and will coach others to implement, new marketing tactics across the Admissions Office and in collaboration with partners on campus. She/he partners with other members of the Marketing & Communications team and the broader Admissions team, to expand and reimagine Penn's marketing strategy, with a focus on growing the office's inbound marketing capabilities. She/he will play a key role in developing a new, office-wide persona-based audience segmentation framework: applying relevant analyses to identify well-defined audience segments on which Penn can grow brand awareness, develop relationships with key market influencers, and continue to compete successfully for the world's top college-bound talent.

As a senior leader in the Admissions Office reporting
to the Vice Dean, Director of Marketing and Communications, the Associate Dean will supervise and mentor 2-4 staff members.
The Associate Dean of Marketing will also be charged with recruiting, evaluating, selecting, and yielding freshman and transfer candidates to Penn s four undergraduate schools: the College of Arts and Sciences, Penn Engineering, Penn Nursing and The Wharton School.

The Associate Dean of Marketing is also responsible for the management of a geographic territory, including building relationships with school educators and administrators and engaging with students and families to
attract appropriate applicants from the region. The Associate Dean of Marketing has responsibility to work as part of a team to achieve the goals of the University of Pennsylvania in enrolling highly-qualified, diverse and intellectually-passionate students.

Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree and 5 years to 7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Demonstrated experience with inbound marketing. Proven experience using customer segmentation to drive successful campaigns, including success with email marketing, lead nurturing, marketing automation, and/or web analytics. Demonstrated experience working with a CRM application, SLATE preferred. Proficiency in marketing automation in order to generate traffic, convert visitors into leads, and then nurture them into converted applicants or evangelists of the Penn brand. Highly analytical and able to derive meaning from data. Excellent writer and communicator (in both written, visual, and verbal form). Highly proficient with Excel, CRM, content management systems, social media and analytics tools. Familiarity with highly-selective college admissions, recruitment, and the evaluation and selection of college applicants in a highly-selective environment are strongly preferred. Strong communication, public speaking and interpersonal skills are required. The job requires a valid driver's license and the ability to work evenings and weekends.
