The University of Virginia Darden School Of Business, one of the world's leading business schools, seeks a highly motivated professional to join our world class Career Development Center (CDC). The Director, Employer Engagement and Recruiting works collaboratively with the Assistant Dean and the CDC Leadership Team to create a first-class experience for companies seeking Darden talent and by helping Darden students develop a foundation for career management success.
This position works closely with a variety of internal and external constituents to direct, measure, and market recruiting and employer engagement activities facilitated through the department. This is a supervisory role that leads the Employer Relations staff.
The Director creates, leads and manages employer engagement and business development programs for both the residential MBA format and the Executive MBA format (Charlottesville and Rosslyn, VA locations).
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Develop initiatives to enhance the effectiveness of the CDC in serving the needs of students and recruiters with a thoughtful focus on outcomes and metrics. Aspire to be a thought leader in MBA recruiting, with a clear understanding of the current recruiting landscape and an ability to accurately predict and prepare for changes. Set clear strategy for employer engagement and recruiting and advise companies on the best practices to reach their hiring goals. Initiatives are expected to increase employment outcomes for Darden students, improved rankings/reputation, high employer satisfaction, and creating positive and energetic environment for employers/recruiters. Create, monitor, and report metrics for reporting the success of business development/employer engagement and recruiting efforts in regular reports to the Dean, CDC staff, and other key internal stakeholders.
Business Development and Relationship Management
Network with company recruiters on and off grounds to deepen relationships, to stay current on business issues, and to assess Darden's brand image among employers. Interact strategically and extensively with hiring representatives (HR, executive sponsors, and alumni) to understand their goals and develop a plan to use Darden resources to successfully guide companies to available students. Seek to cultivate relationships with and attract new companies and industries, including those in healthcare and technology.
Supervise the Employer Relations team in ways that produce outstanding results. Create and sustain a compelling work environment that fosters high engagement on the part of professional and administrative staff.
Work closely with a variety of internal and external constituents to direct, measure, and market recruiting and employer engagement activities facilitated through the department. Work cross-functionally with key departments at Darden, building strong relationships with Engagement/Alumni Career Services and Advancement/Corporate Partnerships to maximize value for companies and to ensure coordination of efforts, including Board relations. Collaborates with Executive format career coaches on how students engage employers at the executive level.
Lead forward-facing and direct, strategic account management efforts. Serve as the key account manager for the most critical companies who recruit at Darden and partner with key departments across Darden to leverage opportunities in alignment with the companies' missions and needs.

Effective public speaking skills and executive presence.
Ability to travel (domestic and international) when needed to attend relevant off-site events or conferences, and to meet with employers (including travel between Charlottesville and Rosslyn, VA locations).
Ability to work nights and weekends during the peak recruiting season (August to November and January to March) is required.
