House Manager- Level II
Provides direct supervision to housing staff and services to clients in both routine and complex cases with competent use of supervision and consultation. May provide supervision, training, or consultation to other staff, volunteers, or community professionals.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following; other duties may be assigned:
Carries out managerial duties at an intermediate to advanced level including:
Facilitates crisis interventions
Advocate housing issues
DCS staff scheduling
Responsible the ensure facility has adequate supplies
Be present "at the unit" on multiple shifts as supervisor, including 1st , 2nd, 3rd
Unit manager will ensure all shifts are covered and ratio is met. This is not limited to the manager be counted in the ratio.
Conducts interviews for potential DCS staff
Conduct OJT training with DCS staff
Conduct in-service trainings with DCS
Ensure DCS staff attend agency trainings
Ensure DCS staff meet annual training requirements
Unit manager will be on-call 24/7 except when other Unit managers have agreed to accept coverage.
Unit manager will be present at least 2 weekends in a month ( Saturday or Sunday)
Unit Manager will be present during all community outings
Conduct staff meeting
Provide trainings for DCS staff
Monitor staff relationship with clients
Ensure any follow-up education needs are being met, i.e... homework, tutoring etc..
Communicate the need for higher level of care
Maintains contact and communication with school and clinical personnel.
Monitors modifications outlined in IEP
Establishes visitation in accordance with the clinical department and DCS
Ensures necessary consents are signed and in hard chart
Informs nurses when a medication issues arises
Can initiate a meeting with clinical and executive staff regarding the need for a disruption meeting
Monitors progress of clients and disseminate to appropriate personnel
Enter case notes for the following: appointments, court appearance, contact with parents, weekly case manager calls, physicians, medication evaluations, intake, visits, contact parents after a pass has been taken by client,
Unit manager will complete SIR and ensure all SIR have been entered into Kaledicare and/or other systems within 24hr.
Unit Manager will ensure all appropriate contacts have been made regarding an SIR involving a client within 24hr
Maintain Health record
Create an on-call schedule for staff at the unit
Works in conjunction with other Unit Managers regarding on-call for extended leave and
Establishes and maintains an effective treatment relationship
Utilizes evidence-based treatment practices as appropriate
Treats clients effectively with regard to race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, social class, environment, or religion.
Carries out required data collection and reporting procedures
Works collaboratively with partnering agencies and staff
Follows agency reporting procedures (statistical, third party payer, outcome measures)
Meets production expectations as defined by program
Takes responsibility for initiating, developing, and nurturing referral relationships
Clinical Quality Assurance
Follows procedures to assure professional ethics and quality assurance
Maintains clear, concise, and current recording; participates in record review
Conveys respect for collaborating agency/staff
Is a productive, responsible collaboration team member; seeks mutual solutions to problems and welcomes the exchange of ideas and learning
Engages or joins collaborating staff in program evaluation and enhancement
Carries out work with flexibility and creativity while maintaining professional standards and ethics in diverse settings
Supervision - may carry out supervision of other staff in the agency and if so:
• Teaches and oversees compliance with agency philosophy, values, and procedures
• Determines job assignment and oversees job results
• Creates an atmosphere conducive of learning and growth
• Assesses strengths and learning needs; develops appropriate learning plan with supervisee
• Provides ongoing feedback and coaches employees to perform at their potential
• Measures results objectively and conducts timely, honest, and clear performance reviews
Volunteer Youth Academy is a 8-bed level II residential treatment center for adolescent males between ages 12-17 who suffer with behavioral, emotional or mental health issues. By removing adolescents from their current environment full of gang affiliations, drugs, substance abuse, and trouble with the law, they can heal in a safe, structured, therapeutic environment supervised by professionals close to their homes. While the program is designed to be 90 days, the typical stay is for four to six months depending on circumstances. We ensure that each child's physical, social, emotional, educational, and permanency needs are met.
Founded in 2005, the company is accredited by The Council of Accreditation (COA). Our facility is contracted by the Tennessee Department of Childrens Services and licensed by the State of Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services. The 10,000-square-foot facility is located in Gallatin, Tennessee, on 1.72 acres, approximately 30 miles northeast from Nashville.
