Summary of Duties:
The Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine (ESFCOM) at Washington State University is embarking on the accreditation and development of a next generation medical school designed to train students to be physician leaders, who innovate, adapt and discover in an ever changing healthcare landscape. The School is now inviting applications for the position of Assistant Director, Major Gifts who will join the Development team in leading the college into the future.

As a member of the Office of Development team in the Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine, you will be responsible for the advancement of development efforts, with an emphasis on identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding gifts.

You will work closely with the Senior Development Director and Development Director to advance the prioritized philanthropic revenue goals of the College in an assigned jurisdictional area; plan, implement, participate and assist with development activities between the College and external constituencies; act as liaison for collaborative efforts among the College, other areas within WSU, and the WSU Foundation in support of the College's Strategic Plan.

Required Qualifications:
Positions require a Bachelor’s degree and four (4) years of progressively responsible relevant experience, which includes eighteen (18) months of full-time fundraising experience which includes demonstrated success of face-to-face solicitation of gifts of $1000 or more, mass market fundraising, event planning and management, donor stewardship, fund tracking and acknowledgements to donors OR comparable experience and one (1) year of managerial experience. Comparable experience totaling four (4) years of progressively responsible full time experience in sales, marketing, public relations or advancement experience which has involved direct face-to-face contact with clients, customers, prospective customers and members of the public may be substituted for the experience requirements. A Master’s degree in a related field may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience.
