Nature of Work:
This is a .9 position (12 mos/40 hrs per week). This position has 5 uncompensated weeks of down time due to Health Services closed throughout the year. Evaluate and elicit health histories, and evaluate and assess clinical symptoms. Prepare patients for examination by the physician or nurse practitioner. Performs laboratory duties as ordered by the physician or nurse practitioner. Administers specific medications. Takes phone calls from students requesting to speak with a nurse. Observe patients and report adverse reactions to medications and treatment.
High School Diploma, LPN Diploma, and BLS Certification. Minimum of 2 years experience as a staff nurse. Knowledge of basic medical procedures and treatments, good oral and written communication skills, good interpersonal skills, and effective time management and organizational skills.
LPN Diploma with a minimum of 2-years experience.
Salary: $15.87 minimum - $22.38 midpoint
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
Must be able to lift/move 50 pounds, stand for long periods of time; be able to stoop and bend. The LPN will also be exposed to biohazard materials.
