Summary of Duties:
The Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences in the College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking an Equine/Large Animal Surgery Instructor for the Veterinary Teaching Hospital at Washington State University. The term of the initial appointment is one year. The appointment may be renewed up to three (3) years. Responsibilities include the supervision and instruction of students, interns, residents and technicians during after-hours large animal medical and surgical emergencies, and instruction and supervision of students on the large animal emergency/ICU rotation. Opportunities to participate in teaching labs, conduct collaborative research with other faculty, and provide CE on a local and/or regional level exist and can be incorporated into position expectations. Some of the clinical duties may involve teaching and surgery service responsibilities during the day, as well. Individuals finishing their third year of equine surgery residency are encouraged to apply.

Required Qualifications:
The candidate must possess a DVM or equivalent degree, have completed residency training at date of hire, and have a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of people in a team atmosphere.
