The Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Virginia School of Medicine seeks candidates for a tenure-ineligible Clinical Instructor for its Ultrasound fellowship. This program is designed to produce national leaders and is directed by Dr. James Moak, Ultrasound Director, and the Chair for the Department of Emergency Medicine is Dr. Robert E. O'Connor.
Qualified applicants must have an MD or DO, and have completed an ABEM/AOBEM accredited Emergency Medicine residency or ABEM/AOBEM accredited Emergency Medicine fellowship. Applicants must be board-certified or board-eligible, and be eligible to obtain clinical privileges in the Department of Emergency Medicine prior to July 2017. Applicants must also be able to demonstrate a genuine passion in the area of interest to which they apply. New faculty development is heavily emphasized by the directors of each fellowship program within the department.
The University of Virginia Medical Center is a 600 bed tertiary care and Level 1 Trauma center located at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Charlottesville. The UVA ED treats an annual volume of >60,000 patients inclusive of adult and pediatrics. We have a well-established residency program with a stable group of excellent faculty members who are active regionally, nationally, and internationally in teaching, research, and advocacy.
