The McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia invites applicants for a full-time tenure-track or tenured faculty position in the Finance Area. Applicants at all ranks will be considered. Employment begins August 2014.
JOB DESCRIPTION: We seek candidates who will produce high quality finance research and who will advance the teaching mission and intellectual environment of the school. We are especially interested in candidates with teaching and research experience in investments, asset pricing, and capital markets.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: For appointment at the Assistant Professor level, applicants must have completed or nearly completed their Ph.D. degree and must have clear potential for excellence in research and teaching. For appointment at the tenured Associate or Full Professor level, must have a Ph.D degree and a strong established record in both research and teaching.
INFORMATION ABOUT THE SCHOOL: The McIntire School of Commerce is the University of Virginia's undergraduate business school and graduate business school for Masters in Commerce, Accounting, and the Management of Information Technology. McIntire is recognized for excellence and innovation in business education as well as for its scholarship. In its 2013 ranking of undergraduate business programs, Bloomberg Businessweek again ranked the McIntire School second in the nation.
