Posting Summary:
The University of Virginia's Department of Student Health, Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) is seeking to hire an Associate Director for Counseling Services. The Associate Director for Counseling Services provides leadership and oversight of CAPS day-to-day operations, including the screening, intake, and emergency consultation systems. The position also manages wait times and provides consultation to staff regarding acute crisis management, disposition planning, and referrals for ongoing care. The Associate Director for Counseling Services works in close collaboration with the Director and the rest of the CAPS Leadership Team to create a vision and develop policy that supports high quality student-centered care. This position will also provide culturally informed clinical services to students, provide outreach and consultation to the UVa community, and supervise interns in CAPS' APA-accredited training program.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
-Highly competent at providing clinical diagnostic assessment, individual psychotherapy, crisis intervention and brief psychotherapy and group counseling to university students as well as consultation to faculty and administrators
-Strong organizational and program management skills
-Demonstrated team orientation and strong interpersonal skills
