Visiting Assistant Professor

Salary: Commensurate with Experience

Required Qualifications: PhD or DMA in Music Composition or PhD in Music Theory or History-Theory. Three years of teaching at the college level. Experience and success teaching undergraduate musics major theory and analysis courses.
Preferred Qualifications: Administrative experience.
Responsibilities & Requirements: Undergraduate Program Director will teach two classes per semester in music theory and analysis on the undergraduate level, and other teaching as determined by the candidate's areas of expertise. Administrative duties to include overseeing the application process, auditions for prospective and current students, curriculum planning, undergraduate performance, as well as serving as advisor and mentor to music majors and minors. Faculty will also recruit undergraduates on Long Island and environs.
Special Notes: This is a non-tenure track position. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously.
