Degree and Area of Specialization:
Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) required; preferably in biochemistry or molecular biology.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
A minimum of 2 years experience in a research laboratory with expertise in biochemistry and molecular biology is required (undergraduate research experience is acceptable). Laboratory skills including mammalian cell culture, PCR, cloning, and RNA extraction are required. Applicants with mouse colony maintenance experience will be given priority.
The Wisconsin Institute for Discovery (WID) is a transdisciplinary research institute at the University of Wisconsin-Madison exploring information across disciplines at the interfaces of research, education, and business.
This Research Specialist position is located in the Sridharan Lab within the Wisconsin Institute for Discovery's Epigenetics Theme. Dr. Rupa Sridharan's research focuses on the epigenetics of cell fate change. More information about the lab may be found at:
Core hours will be 10 AM - 6 PM Monday-Friday. However, flexibility in scheduling will be necessary to accommodate the needs of the lab.
