Degree and Area of Specialization:
Bachelor's degree required, preferable in biological sciences.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
Proficiency with Microsoft Suite required.
Minimum 1-2 years of experience with mouse handling and colony maintenance, tissue dissection, frozen and paraffin tissue sectioning, basic histology, immunohistochemistry, fluorescence microscopy, and mouse genetics strongly preferred.
Familiarity with molecular techniques including nucleic acid and protein purification, subcloning, PCR, western blot, and ELISA strongly preferred.
Cell culture experience including familiarity with maintenance, expansion, and differentiating immortalized and primary cell lines preferred.
The Research Specialist will assist in an ongoing research program studying the basic mechanisms of late embryonic and early postnatal lung and pulmonary vascular development. Work will be conducted in a basic science laboratory with a primary emphasis on developmental biology and mouse genetics.
