Specialist - Teacher-Fixed Term
The Department of Entomology and The Center for Integrative Studies in General Science (CISGS) are seeking a fixed term Academic Specialist – Teacher to teach undergraduate entomology/integrative studies in general science courses; to increase enrollment in the Entomology undergraduate major and minor programs; and to develop and implement outreach programs through the Entomology “Bug House”. The initial duration of the appointment will be one year (9 months) with expectation of continuing renewal based on satisfactory performance.
Specific teaching responsibilities will typically include two ISB Lecture sections (Fall, Spring); coordination of ISB Laboratories (Fall, Spring). Opportunities will be available to collaborate with researchers engaged in cutting-edge research in disciplinary-based science education, assessment, and evaluation. Other responsibilities include developing and presenting materials and programs focused on increasing Entomology undergraduate major and minor enrollment and providing input to curriculum development. Opportunities are available to teach summer semester on-line courses.Required Degree
Doctorate -Entomology or related fieldMinimum Requirements
Documented evidence of training and experience in teaching undergraduate classroom based and on-line science courses is required.Desired Qualifications
