Visiting Assistant Professor or Instructor in Classical Studies
Concordia College invites applications for a one-year, sabbatical replacement for the 2017-18 academic year in the Department of Classical Studies. The position is 5/6 time, with benefits, at the rank of Instructor or Visiting Assistant Professor, depending on degree status.
The primary teaching responsibilities will be Elementary Latin I (using Wheelock) and Classical Literature in Translation in the fall, Elementary Latin II and Classical Mythology in the spring. The candidate will also be responsible for smaller teaching duties: directing a guided independent study course on scientific terminology (each semester), and teaching Elementary Greek II (using Athenaze) to a group of approximately three students in the fall.
Applicants should hold a PhD in Classics; ABDs are also invited to apply.
