Position Summary
The Princeton Neuroscience Institute (PNI) at Princeton University invites applications for a full-time postdoctoral researcher position in conjunction with the project "Toward a Scientific Understanding of the Human Capacity for Cognitive Control," sponsored by the John Templeton Foundation. The project brings together psychologists, neuroscientists, and computer scientists to study the neural mechanisms underlying the uniquely human capacity for cognitive control and its role in decision-making and goal-directed behavior. We are seeking a postdoctoral appointee to explore the philosophical implications of discoveries about the neural bases of cognitive control, focusing in particular on questions of moral agency, self-control, planning and responsibility, as well as the potential for enhancing our abilities in these domains.

The successful candidate will work at Princeton on a research program under the supervision of Jonathan Cohen, PI of the project, as well as additional PNI faculty, students and trainees from the labs of Nathaniel Daw, Yael Niv, Kenneth Norman, Nicholas Turk-Browne and others. Regular attendance at lab meetings and related events is expected. Start and end dates are negotiable, but the appointment will be for a term of one year.
