Electrical Controls Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION: Responsible for the development, maintaining, and improvement of automation controls designs and schematics for our coil processing equipment. Controls Engineers will typically work through the design phase in a team environment making sure the project requirements are met. Our established designs and standards provide a firm foundation from which to innovate and adapt to meet customers' needs. Controls Engineers also provide troubleshooting and support for our customers and our field service department. Pay rate is congruent with experience and skills.

• Working with Management and Sr. Controls Engineers to meet daily design needs

• Generation of controls schematics for electrical, pneumatic and hydraulics using AutoCad

• Generation of 2D panel layouts and design using AutoCAD

• Drive and component sizing and control hardware specification and selection.

• Create bills of materials and routers using internally developed MRP software.

• Ongoing support, modification and enhancement of legacy control systems.

• Create Sequence of Operations, Timing Charts, Programs, Parameter lists, Instructions, and User Manuals

• The ability to understand and follow Safety and Environmental Regulations and develop designs accordingly


• Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred

• Proficiency with AutoCad to generate controls system schematics

• Competency in creating electrical schematics, system design, controls design, and ethernet/profinet communications

• Pneumatic and hydraulic systems design background or education would be of benefit

• Ladder Logic/PLC programming knowledge is beneficial

• Industrial experience with metal processing / forming / stamping would be of benefit, but is not required
