RESEARCH SPECIALIST D
Duties: This position has several primary functions and/or responsibilities: 1) Daily operation of the cyclotron(s) run by the Cyclotron Facility; 2) Daily production of the FDG to satisfy clinical needs; 3) Daily production of other radiotracers for clinical studies; 4) Support the development of new radiotracers when needed.
The candidate will be involved in the operation of the cyclotron, including the startup, operation, and shutdown of the cyclotron(s). The person in this position will also be involved in the daily production of FDG and to ensure the on time delivery to clinics. He or she is also will be the interface with service contractor for routine maintenance and trouble shooting related to the synthesis modules. In addition, the candidate in this position needs be familiar with various synthesis modules to support the production of other radiotracers that are currently produced in the cyclotron facility. When needed, this person will be called upon to help resolve problems that is production related. Another requirement for this position is to develop, independently or working in a team environment, new radiotracers to support future facility goals.
Qualifications: A Master's degree in science or similarly related fields and 3 to 5 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Ability to work independently as well as in a team. A thorough understanding of different aspects of cyclotron facility operation as well as GMP principle is needed. Prior experience in similar setting is strongly desired.
