The Office of Sponsored Programs is recruiting for a Data Analyst position.

The Data Analyst will participate in the development and critical evaluation on an ongoing basis of the standard operating procedures, data, reports and internal controls underlying sponsored programs management at the University of Virginia. The Data Analyst will additionally perform basic to sophisticated activities related to the implementation, support/maintenance, and continuous improvement of research-related systems and platforms at the University. This includes understanding and anticipating user and business needs internal and external to OSP (and the University), documenting functional requirements and appropriately/clearly communicating on progress and results in projects ranging in complexity, ensuring that projects meet or exceed user and stakeholder expectations.

The Data Analyst will ensure that standard operating procedures exist and are adopted by staff in key areas of OSP business function, delivering training and utilizing operational data to support and enforce SOPs in collaboration with OSP leadership when appropriate. The Data Analyst regularly performs long-term or non-routine projects with minimal supervisory intervention, and advises OSP leadership when data and/or analyses indicate opportunities or risks. The Data Analyst may use technical skills to manage projects that are more complex.

The Data Analyst may supervise temporary and student workers.
