The Department of Neurology at the University of Virginia seeks applicants for a tenure-eligible, tenure-ineligible, or tenured faculty position in the Movement Disorders Program. Responsibilities include participation in clinical and associated teaching activities in the Movement Disorders Clinic. The incumbent is expected to devote effort to contributing to and expanding this active clinical program. Applicants with an interest in establishing, or demonstrated ability sustaining, an effective extramurally funded, and independent research program are encouraged. Rank and tenure status are dependent on qualifications, experience and scholarly achievement.
Candidates must have an MD or equivalent and be board-certified or board-eligible at the time of hire in Neurology. Subspecialty training in movement disorders is required. To be considered for the tenure-eligible position, candidates must have experience in basic or clinical research and a strong interest in a career in academic medicine. To be considered for the tenured position, candidates must demonstrate scholarship and excellence in two domains consistent with the requirements for tenure in the School of Medicine.
