Part Time Language Lab Instructor

Description/Job Summary
Overview of position: Summary of position's responsibilities: The Language Lab Instructor is responsible for the operation of the Language Lab including learning management system and other lab-based training for students, providing instructor professional development , teaching/supporting lab-based classes, carrying out placement testing, reporting on enrollment and student performance, and maintaining lab equipment and instructional resources.

A Language Lab Instructor is responsible for:
1.Conducting placement testing
2.Scheduling lab-based activities
3.Ensuring consistent functioning of lab equipment and resources
4.Supporting instructors and students in lab use, including Learning Management System
5.Teaching certain lab-based classes
6.Reporting on lab-based class enrollment and student performance

Please note the contract length is through June 30, 2017, with anticipated renewal for the next fiscal year

Required Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's required with concentration in ESOL, Instructional Technology, Computer Information Systems, or International Studies preferred; strong customer service background

Experience:
  • Prior work with limited English proficient individuals
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Access)
  • Instructional technology background

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Adult ESOL teaching experience
  • Learning management system experience
