Position Summary: The University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill invites applications for a three-year renewable lecturer position in Hindi-Urdu language beginning July 1, 2018. Candidates should be skilled language teachers with a commitment to a proficiency-based approach to language teaching. Responsibilities include teaching six courses per year, including introductory through advanced levels of Hindi-Urdu, and active involvement in program building. Education Requirements: Position requires a master's degree in Hindi-Urdu language pedagogy or a related field.
Qualification and Experience: Position requires native or near-native oral proficiency in Hindi-Urdu; facility with both the Devanagari (Hindi) and Nastaliq (Urdu) writing systems; native or near-native proficiency in English; and knowledge of current best practices and technologies used in teaching Hindi-Urdu at the college level.
