RESEARCH SPECIALIST A
Duties: Research Specialist A will work in the area of the electrophysiology and neuromodulation of neurotrauma (TBI) in small and large animal models.Experiments include neuroengineering, small and large animal brain surgery, electrophysiology, histology and microscopy, as well as animal behavior during electrophysiological recordings. Other tasks will include histopathological assessment of electrode/brain interface, maintenance of logs and lab reports, data analysis, retrieval of recent literature, ordering and general lab maintenance. This position will also oversee students with less experience.
Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree in Neuroscience, Biology, Bio-Engineering or closely related field and 0 to 1 year of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Experience in laboratory setting is not necessary, but would be ideal. Familiarity with coding, MATLAB, or other highly technical activities would be also be a positive. The ideal candidate should be a highly motivated individual with strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as familiarity with graphing and presenting data. Attention to detail, organizational skills, reliability, and the ability to work independently are important. Teamwork, professionalism and the willingness to manage and work cooperatively with others are a crucial part of this position.
