The Department of Cell Biology at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville seeks a Research Scientist with experience in live and fixed cell imaging in 3-dimensions. The goal of the research project is to study the role of Arf family GTPases in the recruitment of adaptor complexes that mediate the sorting of membrane proteins in the endocytic pathway of eukaryotic cells.
Candidates must have an MD and/or PhD degree in molecular biology and/or cell biology and 4-7 years' experience and proficiency in molecular biology, imaging and quantitative image analysis, and the cell biology of membrane trafficking. Successful candidates must have effective oral and written communication skills. Independent research experience is strongly preferred.
