The lab of Dr. Xiaowei Lu in the Department of Cell Biology at the University of Virginia seeks a Research Scientist in a field of cell and developmental biology, specifically mammalian epithelial morphogenesis, to join a group investigating mechanisms of planar cell polarity signaling.
Applicants must have a PhD degree in biomedical sciences, preferably cell biology or developmental biology. Qualified applicants must have 4 to 7 years' research experience and proficiency in molecular and cell biology techniques including recombinant DNA construction, cell culture, primary cell culture, transfection, viral-mediated transduction, immunofluorescence microscopy, mouse embryo harvest and manipulation and cryomicrotomy. Independent research experience is preferred.
