General Summary: The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Graduate Assistant Resident Director. This is a 10-month live-in staff position. The Graduate Assistant will serve as a Resident Director in a residence hall, overseeing community development, first level discipline issues, and roommate conflicts. The successful application will directly supervise a student staff within the residence halls and serve in an on-call rotation. The position reports to the Assistant Director of Residence Life.

Job Duties & Responsibilities: The Graduate Assistant will:
  • Serve as a Resident Director in a residence hall of approximately 250 residents; Report issues related to resident safety and/or building maintenance.
  • Supervise and evaluate resident assistant staff within the assigned residence hall.
  • Assist with RA training.
  • Serve in an on-call rotation.
  • Handle first level discipline issues and roommate conflicts
  • Provide office coverage as needed.
  • Develop community within the residence hall.

  • Ability to work with various campus groups including administration, faculty, staff, and students


Certifications/Licenses & Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Experience in university housing; Previous experience as a resident assistant preferred
