Job Description: The Associate Director for Finance is the Chief Financial Officer in the Department of Campus Living and is responsible for the management and supervision of fiscal and budgetary operations, personnel administration, and procurement for all of the departments within Campus Living. This position provides management and oversight of accounts receivable and payable, purchasing, payroll, travel, personnel actions, technology and general business and operational functions for the department. An important function of the position is analyzing, developing, and enforcing departmental, university, and state policies and procedures. The Associate Director for Finance oversees the budgets for Housing, Dining, and Transit. He/she is responsible for developing the yearly departmental budget (exceeding thirty million dollars). This position approves all budget requests and expenditures and follows all proper accounting practices and university procedures in the receipt and disbursement of all departmental funds. The Associate Director for Finance represents Campus Living in interactions with the University's administration and finance offices including Materials Management, ProCard, Cashier's Office, Payroll, Accounts Payable, Budget Office, and the Comptroller's Office. The Associate Director for Finance is the liaison with Assistant Vice Chancellor for Administration and Finance, Division of Student Affairs Accountant and the State and Internal Auditors. He/she maintains a good working relationship with all liaisons and provides them with essential financial information. The Associate Director for Finance also provides information to students and parents regarding account status, cancellations, refunds, and department policies and procedures. The Associate Director for Finance provides direct supervision for the business staff. He/she conducts work plans and interim and annual performance evaluations in accordance with the policies and procedures established by the department of Human Resources. The Associate Director for Finance is also responsible for initiating all personnel actions for Campus Living and ensuring that Campus Living follows State and University policies and procedures related to personnel administration.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, or related business area and two years of administrative management or business management experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Special Instructions to Applicants: This position is subject to the Career Banding Salary Administration Plan. If candidates are not identified at the Journey level, management may consider candidates at a lower competency level. Pay will be commensurate with applicant's competencies as well as budget, equity, and market considerations. Salary Grade Equivalent: 73 (for reduction-in-force priority purposes only)
