Degree and Area of Specialization:

B.S. in Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Immunology, Molecular Biology, or a related field of study.



Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

At least 1 year of laboratory (non-classroom) experience in molecular biology (e.g., cDNA cloning and plasmid preparation, gel electrophoresis, DNA sequencing) is preferred. Experience with tissue culture, western blot analysis and clinical sample handiling is preferred. However, new or upcoming graduates in molecular biology or related fields are encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in cell biology and biochemistry. Need to have experience working with primary mammalian cell culture, western blot and preparation of lentiviral vectors (HIV, FIV). Understanding of the anatomy of the eye is preferred. Must be willing to work with mice and rats.



Position Summary:

An exciting research technician opening is available in Dr. Donna Peters' Laboratory. The lab's focus is cell-matrix signaling in the human eye and glaucoma.
