General Description of Position: We seek enthusiastic and versatile geologists able to contribute to our growing research in the broad area of energy research, especially in the subarea of synergistic seismic and lithologic/petrophysical characterization of hydrocarbon reservoirs and incorporation aspects of field and laboratory datasets. Anticipated areas of specialization of characterization of conventional and unconventional hydrocarbon reservoirs, including one or more of the following areas of expertise; petrophysics, geomechanics, sequence stratigraphy, basin analysis, seismic lithology prediction and AVO analysis, land seismic data acquisition and processing. Research that interfaces with the broad area of petroleum geology and hydrocarbon-exploration geophysics is highly desirable. Engagement in graduate and undergraduate mentoring and instruction may also be possible. Required Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must possess a doctorate in Geology or related field from an accredited university by August 31, 2017. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to contribute to the development of an active, externally funded research program. Proven record of publications in peer-reviewed journals in one or more of the areas mentioned above. Preferred Qualifications: Industry experience and contacts. Hands-on experience with industry software. Laboratory or field expertise relevant to the area of his/her research focus.
