Program Coordinator Requisition Number: STA001186 Department: 3900100501-First Year Experience Position Type: Staff Position Status: Full-Time Position Summary: First Year Experience. The Program Coordinator provides leadership, development, and execution of Georgia Southern's Move On When Ready (MOWR) dual enrollment program. Currently serving over 250 students from Statesboro and the surrounding communities, the program strives to provide access to higher education opportunities for high achieving area high school students. Position responsibilities vary by time of year and program needs, and include approximately 50% student advisement and 50% program development and implementation. Limited travel to high schools and occasional evening/weekend work is required. Essential Functions • Advises dual-enrollment students in the Move On When Ready (MOWR) program, providing students and parents in-depth information concerning course descriptions, prerequisites, and registration procedures. • Coordinates with local high school counselors, University System of Georgia officials and Georgia Southern Admissions and Financial Aid staff to resolve inquiries. • Develops group presentations for prospective and enrolled students. • Supervises student employees in various support functions. • Updates program website and social media accounts. • Develops and implements a peer-to-peer mentoring program for dual enrolled students. • Manages program data collection and assessments. • Assists with broader advisement and programming efforts in First-Year Experience. Preferred Experience: Previous experience in the one or more of the following areas: academic advising; supporting high school and/or college students; interacting with parents and high school administrators; presentation experience.
