Assistant Track Coach
Inspire Awesome with Eastern Washington University. We are currently seeking an Assistant Track & Field Coach. This position is housed in the athletic department and will report to the Head Coach and ultimately the Athletic Director or sport supervisor. It is the responsibility of the Assistant Coach to work closely with the head coaches to design, organize, implement, facilitate, oversee and evaluate all facets of a Big Sky, NCAA Division I assigned sport program. Several components of this job include, recruiting, camp coordination and public appearances. This position provides educational, monitoring, and supervisory components as well as working within a shared facility. This person will work closely with the Physical Education department, equipment staff, sports medicine staff, classified staff, Assistant Athletic Director for Student Success and Assistant Athletic Director of Compliance. Will also work collaboratively with relevant constituent groups.
It is the responsibility of the Assistant Coach to study and know all policies and procedures integral to university, Big Sky and NCAA rules compliance. Will assist in the direction, develop and management of all aspects of the assigned sport program including but not limited to; recruiting, talent evaluation, conducting training, teaching and development of student athletes within the team concept, scheduling, budget management, supervision of additional staff and monitoring academic progress of the team.

Conditions of Employment
This position, during the course of university employment, will be involved in the receipt of, or accountability for, university funds or other items of value; as well as the unsupervised access with the developmentally disabled, vulnerable adults, or children under the age of 18. Successful applicant will be required to pass a background check.
Travel may be required a minimum of twenty-five (25) nights per year for team competition and/or recruiting.
Applicants must be able to maintain a thorough knowledge of NCAA and institutional rules, regulations and policies.
Rules compliance is an important responsibility of this position. Employee shall support and comply with all applicable rules and regulations of the NCAA, the Big Sky Conference, and other established bodies that govern intercollegiate athletics and the University. In the event the Employee becomes aware, or has reasonable cause to believe, that violations of rules compliance may have taken place, Employee shall report same promptly to the Athletic Director, Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance and/or sport supervisor.
Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
One (1) year of track and field coaching experience.
Must be able to obtain First Aid/CPR/AED certification within the first 60 days of employment.
Must be able to pass the NCAA Coaches Certification Test for off-campus recruiting within 30 days of employment and annually thereafter.
Additionally, candidates must offer a demonstrated high degree of interest, ability and/or experience promoting cultural competency or diversity.
Master's Degree in a related field.
Collegiate coaching experience in jumps and multi-events.
Three (3) years or more of collegiate track and field coaching experience.
Collegiate recruiting experience at the NCAA level.
Collegiate track and field experience as a student-athlete.
No previous history of NCAA violations.
