Under limited supervision, the Business Services Specialist provides support for the Office of Financial Management (OFM) office within the division of University Relations (UR). This position is primarily responsible for coordinating and maintaining day-to-day financial and administrative support for OFM and the university’s primary affiliated 501© (3) charitable foundation, the UMCP Foundation, Inc. (UMCPF).

• Act as the OFM office manager coordinating general office operations and providing administrative support for 7 full-time professionals
• Assist OFM staff coordinate incoming service requests and inquiries from campus business managers
• Assist Accounts Payable accountant with data entry and disbursement of payables
• Assist Treasury Management Director in absence of Cash Management Specialist
• Assist OFM staff with data entry tasks related to setting up and updating new accounts in the financial management system and routing documents through external systems
• Assist OFM managers with new account setup and fielding account questions
• Audit travel and purchasing card log submissions for UR division accounts to ensure compliance with purchasing and travel policies and monitor UMCPF travel and entertainment credit cards for documentation and expense compliance
• Creating and/or editing various documents and correspondence
• Act as primary point of contact for UMCPF related inquiries from the general public and the university 
• Coordinate Foundation’s compliance with state charitable registration regulations
• Reconcile and monitor the operating budget for the Office of Financial Management (OFM)
• Maintain paper and electronic filing systems
• Coordinate deposits with banking institutions and university Bursar’s Office
• Assist with audit preparation for the UMCPF’s annual external and internal audits
• Position regularly interacts with internal and external customers of the university and is required to handle sensitive and confidential information with tact and discretion
