Responsibilities

The Executive Director of Human Resource Services will have the opportunity to support the Marymount University community by developing and implementing human resource initiatives, policies and processes, and strategies that align with the University's mission, vision and values and adhere to all appropriate regulations.

Reporting directly to the Vice President for Financial Affairs & Treasurer, the Executive Director for Human Resource Services serves as the Chief Human Resources Officer to support the vision, strategic plan, and operating objectives of the Office within the University.

The Executive Director leads and administers the Human Resources functions across the University and ensures that these are aligned with the strategies of the senior leadership, as well as the University as a whole.

Examples of Human Resources functions overseen by the Executive Director include:
  • Recruitment,
  • Employee relations,
  • Compensation and benefits,
  • Employee development, and compliance.

The Executive Director leads, motivates, supervises, and serves as a strong advocate for Human Resource Staff.

Minimum Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS
• An advanced degree is required (such as M.A., M.S., MBA with Human Resources Management concentration or related field); a J.D. and/or SHPR certification are advantageous, but not required;

• A minimum of five years' related experience; higher education H.R. experience is preferred, but not required;

• A proven record of success with compensation programs and benefit plan development and administration;management of worker compensation and employee relations, including employee recognition programs;

• Organizational development experience with excellent written and verbal communication skills; experience with administration of federal and state laws and regulations and conflict resolution/mediation;

• Evidence of understanding and supporting Marymount's mission, vision, and values, particularly its Catholic identity;

• A proven commitment to diversity, inclusion and equity as it pertains to Marymount's students, faculty, and staff;

• Proficiency with use of H.R. systems (Datatel/Ellucian preferred) and experience with advanced report writing software (Microsoft);

• A demonstrated track record of visionary and strategic thinking; an understanding of, and a desire to work collaboratively in, a shared governance environment; and

• The ability and ambition to expand the use of technology to create and maintain more effective and efficient processes and procedures to support the University community
