Job description

Duties: In a high-volume, highly selective admissions office, the successful candidate will process J.D. applications for the Law School. Facilitate web-based data exchange and data entry via ACES2, the admissions database. Develop and implement processes for the assessment of applications for completeness, accuracy, and integrity. Scan, upload, and record applicant documents and correspondence. Create and run various reports via the Admissions database on the status of applicants and the applicant pool as a whole. With limited supervision, correspond with and answer questions of applicants and prospective applicants via email, mail, telephone, and in person regarding the admissions process and the status of their applications. Respond to general inquiries regarding the admissions and financial aid processes. Develop and implement processes for the coordination of mass mailings, such as fall recruitment shipping and applicant mailings. Serve as lead coordinator to ensure smooth implementation of on-campus admissions/recruitment events. Provide work direction to seasonal part-time administrative staff. Provide first-impression service to visitors as back-up receptionist.

Qualifications: B.A./B.S. strongly preferred; one to two years of related experience, preferably in an educational or customer service environment or equivalent combination of education and experience; ability to work with culturally diverse constituencies; outstanding interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate admissions and financial aid information to sophisticated, and sometimes sensitive, constituents; ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, tact, and diplomacy in a highly confidential and professional setting; ability to handle multiple tasks, to work independently, and to work collaboratively in an office that is characterized by a high volume of applications and visitors, deadline pressure, and high student expectations; working knowledge of word and data processing programs; working knowledge of ACES2 or experience with similar admissions database preferred.
