Duties: The Manager of Communication and Administration performs a broad range of administrative and communication functions to support and promote The Institute for Regenerative Medicine (IRM) and its Director. This position reports to the Director of the IRM. The primary function of this position is the development and execution of marketing and communications strategies for the IRM, organizing symposia and board meetings, developing content and maintaining the IRM web site, and providing administrative support to the Director of the IRM. The Manager will routinely talk with the scientists and clinicians within the IRM, be familiar with their research and health benefit implications at an educated lay level, and act as a liaison to communicate such advances to IRM stakeholders and interested parties, including the IRM leadership, the IRM advisory boards, the Development office, the Center for Technology Transfer, the press, the IRM web site, and potential donors. This individual will work with constituents across the University (particularly the Development and Communications Office) to promote the profile of the IRM. The Manager will also be responsible for providing Administrative Support to the Director of the IRM, including setting up meetings, managing his calendar, processing travel reimbursements, and other administrative responsibilities. They will also oversee Administrative Support provided to the Institute's Cores and programs. This person must be able to work independently yet be highly collegial and professional.

Qualifications: The minimum of a Bachelor's degree and 3 years to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Significant project experience in marketing/communications is strongly preferred. This position requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Project management skills and expertise in web site management are strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to work independently, be highly organized, and meet strict deadlines.
