Job Summary The Laboratory Manager will be responsible for the preparation of chemical reagents and the collection and storage of chemical waste for the large enrollment undergraduate courses in general and organic chemistry. The Prep Manager will also setup equipment and instrumentation for undergraduate experiments as well as participate in the testing and troubleshooting of new experiments. Responsibilities also include maintaining a computer based inventory of stockroom chemicals and glassware and re-ordering materials as needed. The position may involve training and supervising graduate student prep assistants. The employee will oversee the general maintenance of the prep rooms, stockrooms and undergraduate laboratories in accordance with health and safety guidelines. Minimum Qualifications Bachelors degree and some related experience or equivalent combination required Area-specific certification (i.e.; SCUBA) and training may be required. Other training will be provided as appropriate (i.e.; Radiation Worker).
